Leadership And You (Part 3)

It is human nature to overlook our mistakes. It's hard to learn from a mistake if you don't acknowledge making it. And what good is a mistake if it doesn't teach you something? To learn from an error, you need to admit it, confess it, analyze it and make adjustments so that it  doesn't happen again. Everybody makes mistakes, but only fools repeat them.

You And Your Spirit (Part 21)

Daily devotions are not just about prayer. They are about devoting/committing to a ritual that enhances your spirit. You can't have a distraction to a daily devotion. A daily devotion requires your best effort(s). Here are some suggestions:

  • Keep a journal.
  • Choose a good devotional book to read.
  • Meditate.
  • Do yoga.
  • Take a walk outside.
  • Visit a person who needs a positive visit.
  • Create art.
  • Choose a movie that makes you feel and think!
  • Plant something and care for it.
  • Make a sacrifice.
  • Pray with/for someone.
  • Just listen to someone.

Dream Big

If there were ever a time to dare,
to make a difference,
to embark on something worth doing,
it is now.

Not for any grand cause, necessarily,
but for something that tugs at your heart,
something that's your aspiration,
something that's your dream.

You owe it to yourself to make your days count.

Have fun. Dig deep, stretch.

Dream Big!

Know, though that things worth doing seldom come easy.
There will be good days.
There will be bad days.
There will be times when you want to turn around,
pack it up,
and call it quits.

Those times tell you that you are pushing yourself,
that you are not afraid to learn by trying.

Persist.

Because with an idea, determination, and the right tools, you can do great things.

Let your instincts, your intellect, and your heart guide you.

Trust.

Believe in the incredible power of the human kind.

Of something that makes a difference.
Of working hard.
Of laughing and hoping.
Of lazy afternoons.
Of lasting friends.
Of all the things that will cross your path this year.

The start of something new brings the hope of something great.

Anything is possible.

There is only one you.
And you will pass this way only once.

Do it right.

Dream BIG!

Leadership And You (Part 2)

Praise tests a person, just as a high temperature tests metal. How does praise affect you? Do you work to get it? Do you work harder after you've gotten it? Your attitude toward praise tells a lot about your character. People of high integrity are not swayed by praise. They are attuned to their inner convictions, and they do what they should do whether or not they are praised for it.

You And Your Spirit (Part 20)

Insight is a part of spirituality. It is the discipline of a well-trained eye. An insightful person will notice a gesture, hear a dropped remark, or notice a "stare-off" into space. An insightful person has their eyes, ears and heart open, to the messages that are around them.

You probably know someone like this. Spirituality asks you to become one of those people.

You're Only Human!

"To err is human, to forgive, divine." Let's face it, we're human and we make mistakes.

One of the saddest mistakes we ALL make is the lack of FORGIVENESS for ourselves. In truth, we're our own worst enemy.

Life doesn't come with a fool-proof guide. Most of us are doing the best job that we can. We're ALL a  work in progress.

We don't enjoy making mistakes BUT we do! Accepting that we make mistakes (and forgiving ourselves when we make them), is a part of life. Quit badgering yourself. Forgive yourself. You're only HUMAN!

Leadership And You (Part 1)

The people who stand behind you, who work hard and help you get the job done, deserve to share in your success. Be sure that in all your worrying, planning and organizing, you don't forget the people who are helping you the most.
